Lewisham is changing

Significant investment from the public and private sectors has introduced new opportunity and enlivenment into Lewisham town centre. The rejuvenation of the area has created a truly vibrant modern living destination; unmistakably young, fresh and cosmopolitan.

The redevelopment forms part of a £350m partnership, bringing significant benefits to local businesses, residents and commuters. Progressive regeneration is already uniting elements of Lewisham town centre including Lewisham Shopping Centre, the High Street and Glass Mill Leisure Centre, to form a streamlined hub which is easy to navigate for pedestrians and cyclists as well as motorists.

The result is the creation of a highly desirable living space, emphasising leisure and transport links whilst retaining and enhancing Lewisham’s strong community spirit.

An attractive riverside park open to residents and visitors to Lewisham, Confluence Place will provide green space and an area of tranquility within the heart of the borough. It will open up the previously-hidden rivers Quaggy and Ravensbourne, making a natural gateway in to Lewisham town centre.

Pedestrian-only walkways create a safer, cleaner environment for the residents of today, and tomorrow’s community.

Lewisham is community.

Sustainable development is at the heart of Lewisham

In addition to reducing the environmental impacts of the construction process, Portrait Two aims to improve the quality of life for the local community; providing high quality homes and generating employment opportunities for the area. The three pillars of sustainability: social stability; environmental awareness; economic growth, are at the forefront of the Portrait Two development both for our partners, suppliers and the public alike.

The People, Planet, Profit model demonstrates the relationship between the needs of all stakeholders. It can also help to identify where improvements can be made to make a development project more sustainable.
