Apartments in the latest phase of the Lewisham Gateway scheme, Portrait TWO – a striking 22 storey apartment tower, are now 85% reserved off plan.

Comprising 101 apartments and a communal rooftop terrace, the 22 storey tower is the second block available to buy at Muse Developments’ Lewisham Gateway, neighbouring the successful all-sold first phase of Portrait.

Since their release in February 2017, apartments in the Portrait TWO development have been popular among investors, first time buyers and local residents looking to step up on the property ladder in a new generation of urban living.

The development is moments from the mainline rail station and DLR, providing direct access into Canary Wharf within 17 minutes* and Green Park in 25 minutes* which has proved particularly desirable for commuters.

In what is turning out to be a pivotal year for Lewisham, the proposed Bakerloo Line extension has seen all eyes turn to the South East London Town. According to TfL, once approved, the £3.6 billion project backed by Mayor Sadiq Khan, could start work in 2023 with services up and running by approximately 2028**, meaning that apartments in the area are in high demand.

Emma Lander, Sales & Marketing Manager at JLL said: ‘’Portrait Two continues the success story that is Lewisham Gateway. With 85% now reserved, a high amount of buyers clearly appreciate the ideal location and excellent transport links on offer whilst able to enjoy London Living’’.

With only 13 apartments left in the development, and selected plots being made available on Help To Buy it appears that the race is on to secure a position in the future of Lewisham.

Bakerloo Line extension – will Lewisham flourish? Ruth Bloomfield, Evening Standard, seems to think so…

In what is turning out to be a pivotal year for Lewisham, the proposed Bakerloo Line extension has seen all eyes turn to the South East London Town meaning that apartments are hot property.

Once approved, the £3.6 billion project backed by Mayor Sadiq Khan, could start work in 2023 with services up and running by approximately 2028.

But what does this mean for potential new homeowners?

Ruth writes: “Presumably with the example of how Crossrail has triggered massive house growth, [people] are investing heavily in Lewisham, adding modern flats to its current supply of affordable period houses and first time buyer-friendly purpose-built flats.”

Portrait Two is part of the larger Lewisham Gateway development by Muse Developments which is paving the way for prosperity in the area with up to 900 homes plus new shops, restaurants, bars and cafes.

Phase One of the project, worth £130 million, adds 226 flats, student digs, the re-routing of the Ravensbourne and Quaggy rivers, new green spaces and a new road layout to improve access to Lewisham station and the town centre.

Phase Two, costing £220 million, will add hundreds more rental homes, 16,000 sq ft of shops and restaurants and a new park.

It is anticipated that the Lewisham Gateway site will be completed by 2021 which, as Ruth says, “will set the scene for the future of the area.”
